Susanna Harmon, 18 years old, has been studying classical piano with Nadya Dubikovsky for 6 years. Susanna was a finalist in the 2015 Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition and the 2012 World Piano Competition (Cincinnati, Ohio). She participated in the 2012-2013 District Hoosier Auditions, where she placed second. Susanna placed first in solo and duet during the 2014 Tippecanoe Musicale competition, and has also enjoyed taking part in the ISSMA Contest at both District and State levels (receiving a perfect score at State).
Susanna enjoys playing and composing many styles of music. She is the pianist for the Jefferson High School Jazz Ensemble, and has earned several awards for her original compositions. At age 9, Susanna began to compose, and won the State Federation Music Festival for her composition Secret Path. She received an honorable mention in an international composition contest, and first in the 2013 IMEA competition.
Susanna is thankful for the support she receives from her family and friends while extra gratitude is extended to her grandparents’ and the Children’s Music Foundation for the financial support in music. She gives thanks to her teacher, Ms. Nadya Dubikovsky, for her earnest dedication and immense patiences along the journey, and for offering her the opportunities she’s experienced. Most importantly, she thanks God for giving her the talent and love for music.
