Mike Piggott is Purdue’s Director of Community Relations. He came to Purdue 15 years ago after working three decades in local media as news director and anchor at WLFI-TV and WASK radio.
He is a former member of the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra Board and has been involved in several LSO events including narrations of the Jefferson Tribute during a 4th of July concert and the Story of Babar during a children’s concert. He also served as master of ceremonies during several LSO Independence Day concerts. Mike is a former chair of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce board and was instrumental in the creation of the Quality of Life Council. He has chaired the Tippecanoe County Human Relations Commission since its inception twelve years ago. He has served board positions with the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, Greater Lafayette Commerce, Historic Prophetstown and the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
Mike serves as Master of Ceremonies at dozens of local events annually and is Purdue’s Public Orator, the voice of graduation ceremonies. He is married to Nancy Piggott, who taught at Glen Acres Elementary School for 33 years before her retirement. They live in Battle Ground.
